Travel Advice for the 2010 MMN Conference - South Bend, IN AIR TRAVEL: The closest airport is the South Bend Regional Airport (SBN). There are a number of airlines flying in there - but from most parts of the country it may require a change of planes - often in Chicago. From some cities it may be almost as cheap to fly directly into South Bend but from many it will cost 50% to 100% more compared to flying into Chicago. You should check your connections carefully. The Hilton Garden Inn has a free shuttle service from the South Bend airport. BUS AND CAR: It is about 90 miles from downtown Chicago to South Bend. You can rent a car at any airport. There is also a bus service, Coach USA, which is available at both O'Hare and Midway airports. You take it and then get off at the Notre Dame exit and call for a ride across the street (it is just a few blocks). The buses run about every 2 hours and cost $36 one way or $65 round-trip and takes about 4 hours. TRAIN: The South Shore train runs from the O'Hare Airport to downtown Chicago and then trains run to the South Bend Airport. Trains from downtown Chicago run about every 3 to 4 hours and cost $10.75 one way. The trip takes about 3.5 hours.
